“The tiled floors stay, and so does the kitchen — but everything else has come to life. The client's bright red sofa bed became the star of the space.”

In the centre of Pécs, a former accountant's office has been turned into this wonderful, colourful little place designed for Booking, complete with a tiny, intimate inner garden. What I first saw as a challenge during the design process — the existing Mediterranean and decidedly dated tiling and interior doors, as well as a strongly coloured kitchen, all had to be kept — led to something joyful, extraordinary in its colours and truly standout on the market. For the good of the cause we removed a section of wall so that the dining area could become part of the living space.

“The entrance sums up the concept: retained Mediterranean floor tiles, retained interior doors and a dark wood front door. The colours act as structure; they frame. Brown with brown, burgundy with burgundy. Furniture and wall colour share the same palette.”
